PhilADELPHIA leaders & police want residents to turn in their guns - to combat violence .... really?
With the surge in shootings in Philadelphia, the city leaders and police are asking the public to turn in their guns this weekend — with no questions asked. Really? Seriously?
At first I thought this was a joke, but it is not.
“Get those guns, find out what is being hidden in your house, take it out and turn it in,” City Councilmember Cindy Bass said Thursday at a news conference outside Police Headquarters.
For sure... I am certain that gun owners will be swift to comply especially after taking note that:
The number of homicides in the city in 2020 soared to 261 as of last Thursday night.
That’s a 29% increase from the same period last year and the highest number of killings in nearly three decades, when 275 homicides were recorded for the same period in 1991.
Well if you live in Philadelphia, or as I jokingly say, "Killerdelphia," I will be praying for you to make the right decision about turning in your weapon of self defense.
